The “Technical Assistance” (TA) team at responsAbility is responsible for developing and managing projects that support responsAbility managed Funds and investees. The team closely collaborates with internal and external stakeholders such as investment teams and independent consultants, and reports to donors and external committees.

You would be managing a project to support the Swiss Investment Fund for Emerging Markets.

Your Main Tasks
  • Develop or initiate projects in close cooperation with the SIFEM investment team (Fund of Funds) and portfolio companies. This includes performing needs assessments, structure and prepare projects with the relevant stakeholders, define relevant objectives, scope of work, deliverables & KPIs and project budgets, and present these for approvals.
  • Identify best suited providers and manage the procurement process and contracting of consultants or service providers in line with policies and procedures of the TA Facility (TAF).
  • Lead contract negotiations with selected consultancy firms or service providers.
  • Supervise and monitor project implementation in close cooperation with portfolio companies, incl. reporting on financials and progress.
  • Provide innovative solutions for projects and their implementation methods in line with the strategy of the SIFEM TAF.
  • Coordinate TA project related communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare progress reports, including financial updates to SIFEM.
  • Manage all legal requirements of the TA Facility such as appointing auditors, trustees, ensuring up-to date legal documentation, policies etc. and managing donor accounts.

Your Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree / other relevant qualification, with at least 10 years of relevant practical work experience such as project management, including experience in procurement and implementation of advisory services.
  • At least 2 years work experience in/with countries in emerging markets, or having worked in a similar role with emerging markets.
  • Track record of successfully designing and managing projects in emerging economies, preferably for Fund Managers.
  • Experience with capacity building programs in a development organization would be a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of business requirements and strong result orientation.
  • Excellent level of written and oral business English, with well-developed writing skills is a must.
  • Highly motivated personality who knows and is familiar with working efficiently with interdisciplinary teams and has a proactive and autonomous working style.
  • Culturally versatile to successfully operate within the company and manage consultants globally.
