Purpose of the position

As a member of our small team, you will work directly with the Directors of focusright and play an important role in building up our company and continuously improving our services. This includes managing projects with clients independently or in a team and collaborating internally for the development and continuous improvement of background materials and tools we can use in our work with clients and project partners. We are looking for a curious, proactive, and confident team player who can identify with our company values and mission.

Focus of the work

  • Manage projects with clients in collaboration with team members or independently
  • Lead and/or collaborate with the team in the development of innovative solutions and tools for companies to implement HRDD in line with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enter- prises (MNEs)
  • Conduct research and analyses on specific topics and value chains related to business and human rights (BHR)
  • Manage the conceptualization and delivery of workshops, trainings, and presentations on core concepts of HRDD
  • Support in back-office work, website content development and knowledge management

What you should bring

  • Joy of working independently and in a structured way
  • Genuine interest in the topic and ability to translate complex requirements in practical “business language”
  • Expertise in the field of BHR, including knowledge about the UNGPs and the OECD Guide- lines for MNEs
  • Demonstratable knowledge on recent developments and initiatives in the context corporate social responsibility, responsible business conduct, and human rights due diligence
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and organisational/project management skills
  • Completed studies with a master’s degree in a related field, including some formal education in human rights, international politics, business ethics or sustainability
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of BHR, including practical experience within companies
  • Languages: solid English and German skills are a must; French and other language skills are desirable
