About GreenBuzz 

GreenBuzz is a network with a business focus that engages its community and partners on sustainability topics to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). GreenBuzz was founded in Zurich and is growing, with current additional chapters in Berlin and Utrecht. 

GreenBuzz Zurich offers different activities and services to support the state-of-the-art knowledge sharing about sustainability business between industry, public sector and science. We connect the right changemakers with each other. The main activity is organizing 30 events a year around Zurich focusing on different industries, regulations and science discoveries in sustainability. 

GreenBuzz has a network of 5,000+ business changemakers and is run by a small operational team. 

The Role: Communication & Event Manager (100%) 

You will support GreenBuzz with communication and event management activities. You will report directly to our Managing Director. Tasks will include: 


  • Maintaining our editorial plan for linkedIn and newsletters 
  • Creating content and visuals for all our channels (linkedIn, newsletters, website) 
  • Taking care of our data for the newsletters 
  • Creating event visuals and event text for our events 
  • Maintaining press contacts 
  • Developing further communication collaboration with external partners 
  • Maintaining contacts with partners for communication activities 
  • Developing and executing further marketing activities with the team 
  • Supporting in preparing slide decks and pitch decks 

Event Management: 

  • High-level planning the events with the team 
  • Detailed event planning with the event manager 
  • Setting up the events on the website, including ticket sales 
  • Managing logistics before and at the event together with the event manager 
  • Managing participant lists and badges 
  • Participant service - communicating with participants in case they have questions 
  • Preparing team briefing and sending it 
  • Preparing & sending follow-up emails 
  • Communicating with ambassadors and volunteers 
  • Ability and understanding of solving quickly pressuring situations around events 
  • Frequently moderating events 

Your Profile 

You will fit perfectly into our team if you: 

  • Are a self-starter, but team-oriented. 
  • Take over responsibility for tasks and solve independent challenges 
  • Have an eye for consequently improvement of your own and team's tasks 
  • Have good organizational skills and have a detail-oriented way of working and keeping the bigger picture in mind 
  • Are flexible, tenacious and have a hands-on approach to working 
  • Are interested in working in a small and fast-paced organisation that creates real impact in the sustainability business 
  • Love to connect with professionals face-to-face as well as virtually and work productively and professionally with them together
  • Are a confident and straightforward person 
  • Enjoy having fun as a team and being relaxed even though it might include weekly stressful peaks

We are looking for a person who: 

  • Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English 
  • High level German in writing & speaking (B2 minimum) 
  • Has prior experience in communications 
  • Has prior experience in designing visuals, posters, general graphics, etc. 
  • Has prior experience in organizing events 
  • Has prior experience and a strong interest in the field of sustainability


  • Has prior experience in working with press 
  • Lives around Zurich 

Further Important Details 

Duration: Open-ended

Start Date: February 1st, 2024

Working hours: 100% (8 hours per working day)

Holidays: 5 weeks per year

Salary: Will be communicated at the interview and fits the usual NGO salary

Benefits: Reimbursement of Halbtax, working with the biggest sustainability network around Zurich, flexible working hours, small, motivated and non-hierarchical team
